I admit I haven't read all the entries here but I will say that I do like some political cartoons.

There were also some I didn't like because I think they went too far.  I just wanted to ask, though they weren't exactly policital cartoons, if anyone remembered the Willy and Joe cartoons by Bill Mauldin.  Mauldin worked for Stars & Stripes and one of the rumors was that General Patton didn't like him since he often didn't meet Patton's thoughts of proper military appearance.  He also didn't usually treat officers very well in his cartoons.  Here's just one of the websites where you can find out about him: http://www.loc.gov/rr/print/swann/mauldin/mauldin-atwar.html.  If you want to see some really good cartoons, look him up on the Internet.  I think you'll learn quite a bit about cartooning and also about World War II.

Political cartooning has a very rich history in the U.S. going all the way to pre revolution days.  Many of them "go too far" but like any editorial commentary they are strictly the opinion of the cartoonist.  I try to pick cartoons that "go to far" skewering all sides of an issue.  In any event my picks are an attempt to remain topical.  My intent is not to offend anyone or everyone.  Feel free to post any you like... I attempt to post one per day...

Thanks for reading and enjoy!  :)

The greatest editorial cartoonist of all times (IMHO) was Don Addis of the St. Petersburg Times.  Many of his cartoons were not political, but about life in general.  Unfortunately Don retired a couple of years ago, but his cartoons are still available on the St. Pete Times archives.

I went to the Potter movie last night and was shocked how tall (may I say old?) the actors are. LOL
