Don't Focus on New Guys


I’ve been thinking about what it really means to rely on someone who is new. Most times, adding new blood is a good thing. It’s refreshing, it’s competitive, and it adds another dimension to the team (whether in sports or life). So, is it realistic for the Jaguars to rely on new guys to get the job done in 2016?

I celebrated my one year anniversary with 1010XL this week. I took some time to reflect and think about everything that happens in a year at a new job. I’ve met so many new people in the media and in the community, learned the ropes at EverBank, interviewed great players and coaches, and so much more. It’s been a wild ride. I moved to Jacksonville to cover a young, vibrant team that did not live up to preseason expectations.

I’m no longer the “new girl” but now there are plenty of new guys on the team. I’ve been thinking about what it really means to rely on someone who is new. Most times, adding new blood is a good thing. It’s refreshing, it’s competitive, and it adds another dimension to the team (whether in sports or life). So, is it realistic for the Jaguars to rely on new guys to get the job done in 2016?
